We're Hiring – Freelance Photographer
We’re looking for a photographer to tell the stories of Oval Space and The Pickle Factory over the course of 2019.
Working collaboratively with our in-house marketing and design teams, you’ll be tasked with developing a new ‘house style’ for both venues. What we’re looking for:
First and foremost, you need to be subtle in your approach to club photography. No posed photos, minimal flash and an unobtrusive presence on the dancefloor.
We’re looking to tell a story of the venues as vital cultural spaces, and the interactions that happen in this context. A humanistic feel to the photography is essential.
An appreciation for the nuances of both spaces and how to draw attention to this is key.
These photos will be used for social media, our own website and press. A familiarity with photography within all these mediums is key.
Whilst getting photos of performers and big venue shots are important, that’s not the ultimate aim of this brief.
We’d like to tell the story of Oval Space blossoming as one of London’s foremost cultural institutions, sitting at the intersection of music, arts and entertainment. As our in-house photographer, you’ll be required to come down to a mixture of club, live music, and non-music related events to accurately reflect the breath of activities happening in the space.
The Pickle Factory
The Pickle Factory turns four in November 2019. Over the next 6 months, we’d like to capture the atmosphere of London’s best small club through a photographic series.
We estimate that over the course of 2019, there will be at least 10 shoots which you'll be required to attend. To apply, please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org with the subject line ‘Oval Venues 2019 Photography’, and include your portfolio and a one page cover letter explaining what you think you can bring to the project. Fees will be dependent on experience, and we’re looking for someone to begin ASAP.
